5 fun things for spring

Time for Spring

With spring marching in and winter heading out, there are a world of possibilities in front of you. It’s a time to get outdoors more and bundle up less! Hurray for spring!

If you want to have fun this spring there are so many ways to do it. If you need some ideas, just check out this simple list of 5 fun things for spring to find fun ways to enjoy the change in seasons.

A Day Trip and Tour

About two and a half hours away from me is the Ben and Jerry’s headquarters. They give tours and free samples all the time.

Within a few hours of you, chances are there are wineries, companies whose products you admire, and other places you’d love to check out. Why not do a little research and take a road trip to a place that you’ve always enjoyed from afar?

Build Something

If you want to build your roots instead of planning your escape, why not build something? There are all kinds of things you can build to improve where you live. You can build playgrounds for kids or make a shed for yourself.

Building something just may be the one of these 5 fun things for spring that will bring the most joy for years to come. If you want more ideas on what to build, check out this video:

Outdoor Concert or Play

Chances are there are outdoor concerts where you live or even outdoor plays. Check your community’s website to see what is available in your area.

You can also have your own. Do you know talented people on your block? Invite them over to jam. Or have the kids put together a play and put it on for the neighborhood. What’s better than a little outdoor entertainment?

A Fresh Air Market

Sure Seattle may have Pike Place Market and Chicago may have the Navy Pier, but there are all kinds of local outdoor markets where you can go, find great food, and enjoy the springtime air. It’s a whole different way to enjoy one of these 5 fun things for spring.

Check your local community website to see what outdoor marketplaces exist near you. Do some Internet searches to find some that may be close to you in neighboring communities. Or just keep your eyes peeled for farmer’s markets and other great outdoor shopping.

It Will Last Longer

If you want a visual image to last, take a picture. At the same time, sometimes putting the phone down and just experiencing something in the moment can heighten our enjoyment of it.

The next time you are out in nature, imagine taking a picture, but leave your phone in your pocket. What scenery do you see that you want to remember? What animals and creatures do you notice? There’s something about paying close attention that really awakens our senses. It might be distracting to always be taking pictures, but it might also focus our attention to look for the right shot.

What ever option you take, whatever plan you make, whether you use these 5 fun things for spring or you make up your own, find a way to enjoy the life you have in front of you. It’s your life. Add some wow!
