A Better You: Three Simple Self Improvement Tips

three simple self improvement tips

I stumbled upon three simple self improvement tips that greatly improved my life. If you want to build a better you, these simple tips will help you become even more successful than you are now.

I will show you three simple self improvement tips that are easy to add to your day, but will still have a huge impact on your life. These are the same life hacks that I have used to lose over 60 pounds, build my own company, and write thousands of blog posts.

The best part is, they are easy!

Five Minutes

The first thing to do with these three simple self improvement tips is to dedicate five minutes a day to something. That’s it. Just five minutes a day. Everyone wants to do something amazing and they draft up a big plan on what they will do.

Then they see the plan, get freaked out, and never do a thing.

But if you dedicate just five minutes a day to something, after a month that’s over two and a half hours. To put that in perspective, if you were writing a paragraph in those five minutes, you could have a chapter of a book. After a year, your book would be complete.

As you keep doing this you will find the amount of time will grow, but it will grow naturally. There will be some days you want to do extra. There will be days you will have done extra and won’t realize it. But the only requirement is to do five minutes a day. Make sure you never dedicate more time than you feel comfortable with. You have to set an amount of time that makes it easy to jump in and do the work. That’s the most important part.

A Perfect Record

In the last post Three Powerful Self Improvement Ideas I demonstrated how consistency is important to self improvement. In a similar fashion, you want to strive to have a perfect record of doing your self improvement each day. Of the three simple self improvement tips here, this one is the best at building momentum.

You want to build a streak. I have uninterrupted streaks that are years long. For instance, I’ve been writing 20 minutes a day, every day, for just under 3 years. For more than a year I’ve been doing it 60 minutes a day*.

Streaks have a way of motivating us forward. It’s easy to give up on something after a day. It’s hard to have consistently moved toward your goal every day for a year and just give up. Streaks change the momentum from “easy to quit” to “easy to keep it going”.

Have Fun!

Finally, the last of the three simple self improvement tips is fun! Enjoy yourself! Don’t be miserable for the five minutes a day; have fun with it! Be excited about what you’re going to accomplish. Look forward to the possibilities.

Have a little celebration each time you complete your daily self improvement. Congratulate yourself and pat yourself on the back. It won’t take long until you start to look forward to your five minutes and won’t realize when you go over.

Three Simple Self Improvement Tips
