Empathy is a strong and unique emotion that relies more on other people’s feelings instead of your own. “The highest form of knowledge… is empathy,” and it is something that can bring change in this world. You can learn more about this feeling by reading some powerful empathy examples.

Understanding and acknowledging what the other person is going through isn’t easy, but empathy is essential for connecting with people and making a positive change.

A Friend in Need Is a Friend Indeed

As the exam week approached, Kate and all of her friends started working on their schedules to maximize their efforts. The atmosphere was chaotic, and everyone was trying their best to achieve good grades.

One of Kate’s friends, Jane, was also struggling. Since her childhood dog had recently passed after suffering from a severe disease, she couldn’t focus entirely. Kate knew the feeling quite well as she also lost her dog last year.

Kate decided to help Jane by offering to study together even though she was struggling herself. Kate motivated Jane to work hard and supported her throughout the examination period. The results came out in a few weeks, and Jane passed all her exams. She realized Kate’s role in her achievement and thanked her.

Jane was going through a rough time and needed someone to empathize with her. Luckily, she had a friend like Kate, and their friendship only grew stronger from that day onwards.

A Good Deed Brightens the World

Pradeep was getting off from work when he saw Noah glaring at the pile of files beside him. He asked him about the files and learned that Noah had to make up for leaving early one day last week. He knew Noah left early that day to visit his mom at the hospital, and she was still in critical condition.

Pradeep suddenly remembered the time when he had to manage his wife’s hospital checkups and work at once. Even though he couldn’t offer help because of his different field of work, he got Noah a couple of croissants and coffee to encourage him. Since Noah couldn’t make time for his lunch or dinner, he immediately devoured the croissants while thanking Pradeep.

It’s the Little Things that Count

Enjoying breakfast with his family, Xavier was thinking about buying gifts for them on his way back from the office. Since it was his last day at the office before leaving for the Christmas holidays, he realized he wouldn’t get a chance again. Xavier was busy thinking about the gifts when he was startled by the doorbell, and it was the mail carrier.

Since the mail carrier, Jordan, was a regular, Xavier started chatting with him about Christmas and the holidays. Jordan laughed nervously at Xavier’s holiday timings as he only had one day to enjoy Christmas. Xavier pretended not to notice the sudden change in Jordan’s laugh.

He couldn’t help but remember when he used to work as a mail carrier to earn a few extra dollars and support his family. Xavier immediately decided to buy additional gifts for Jordan’s family that year.

He asked Jordan indirectly about his kids’ ages and bought gifts for them. Xavier packed all the gifts together and gave them to Jordan one morning. Jordan couldn’t control his overwhelming emotions and became teary-eyed.

The Bottom Line

Since empathy is a strong emotion, it radiates positive energy not only around your circle but also around the person you are being empathetic to. Empathy is one of the most crucial traits that keeps humanity alive in this world, and all of us should try to be more compassionate towards other people.
