A few weeks later he was unable to hear out of his left ear and was having horrible headaches. A CT scan showed nothing. A follow up MRI showed bleeding in his skull and the doctors performed surgery to relieve the pressure.
Two weeks later he started having motor skill issues. 4 weeks later he couldn’t walk.
But this story has a happy ending. He went to Emery and they performed surgery that turned things around. But David didn’t stop there. He had been smoking for 30 years, and he hadn’t been taking care of himself. He decided now was the time to change that.
He changed his life around. He dropped around 40 pounds, gave up smoking, and now loves to run. So much so, in fact, that he has ran over 75 triathlons and is on his 5th ironman. But the most telling thing was something his wife told him: “You’re a happier person; you enjoy life more.”
He turned his life around and went from nearly incapacitated to running/biking/swimming nearly 150 miles in a single day. 5 times. He became a superman. Why not you?
