Struggling with a tough morning? Having difficulty with a challenging afternoon at the office? Here’s how to get through the day at work.
Find the Fun
Work is not always fun. I write every workday, but that doesn’t mean I want to. There are a lot of things we have to do each day and sometimes the work seems like a never ending chore.
One trick is to find the fun. You can change something you have to do into something you want to do simply by focusing on the enjoyable parts.
Sometimes when I’m about to go on stage in front of a bunch of people I start to freak out thinking about forgetting what I’m going to say or messing up. When this happens, I simply remind myself that I enjoy talking to a crowd. I enjoy helping people and sharing things that can change their lives.
Sometimes when I have monotonous work, I put on music or a TV show in the background to up the enjoyment.
When you’re wondering how to get through the day at work, find the fun. Whether it’s a change in focus, boosting the excitement, or even making work a game to change chores into fun activities, you can make your day more exciting.
Create a Celebration
Another thing you can do is make the whole thing a lot more exciting. Change the drudgery into celebration.
You can celebrate each task you complete, each project you finish, and every document you write. Find ways to keep tabs on what you’ve done and celebrate your accomplishments. It will give you a healthy perspective on work, and it can become a part of how you celebrate life everyday.
Finally, the last way for how to get through the day at work is with rewards.
Add Rewards
If you’ve ever stopped to think about crime problems and solutions – how to change our world to reduce the things that lead to bad behavior – you’ve probably come across the idea of rewarding good behavior.
The thing is rewards work. We’ve personally used rewards to get our cute little pup on a schedule, go outside, and understand key commands like “sit” and “stay”.
Everyone loves rewards. Did you get a lengthy task done? Reward yourself with a treat or a few minutes of web surfing. Did you get a major milestone done? Reward yourself with a night out with friends or an item you’ve been eyeing online for awhile.
It can be tough to get through the day at work sometimes. Sometimes the work is overwhelming and uninspiring. However, if you find the fun, make work a celebration, and reward yourself for key progress points, you can make your day exciting, fulfilling, and productive.
