Not Reading this Post May Kill You

danger
There may be something you are doing right now that is slowly killing you. It may not be that slow either. Keep reading; not reading this post just may kill you.

The Startling Facts
The fact is that you may be doing something this very moment that will kill you. I want you to know that your life may be in mortal danger. Reading what I have to say may change that.

Or it may not. It could be that you may read this and you will be on the road to mortal danger anyway.

The Crazy Facts
There are all kinds of things out there that pose mortal danger. The fact is people die from falling coconuts, from airplanes crashing into their homes, from sinkholes appearing from out of nowhere. Maybe one of these could happen while you read this.

A Brazilian man was killed when a cow fell through his roof.

A deputy mayor of Delhi fell off a balcony trying to fend off attacking monkeys.

The owner of the Segway company died riding his Segway off a cliff.

The Real Facts
What’s the point? The point is that we sometimes get scared about things that don’t need to scare us. Sure a cow could fall through your roof, but if that only happened to one man your chances are about 1 in 7.4 billion, the estimated number of people on the planet.

Fear debilitates us. It angers us. It causes us to be irrational. We can often cause ourselves a great deal of harm worrying about things that will never happen.

And it makes us vulnerable. It strips us of any feeling of safety. Fear can put us in a position to be easily manipulated.

The Real Solution
Hope is the better solution. Hope for a better outcome, a positive situation, a better world. What fear takes away, hope can replace.

If you find yourself afraid, worrying how things will turn out, try hope; believe there is a better option around the bend. You may find that doing that may bring you life.
