Take a Breath

take a breath

You have a lot going on in your life. Take a second to take a breath.

A Full Day

No matter what your life looks like, things can get chaotic. There’s work, relationships, and personal improvement. Then there’s the normal stuff like cooking, eating, cleaning, and self care. Things can get overwhelming fast.

Even when the day is free we often have things that weigh on our minds or problems we need to solve. It’s not easy to find time to relax and just enjoy the life in front of us.

So take a second, and take a breath.

A Simple Act

Stop anything else you’re doing. Clear your mind of distractions. Focus on this one thing:

Take a breath.

Breath in slowly through your nose. Count to 5: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Now exhale through your mouth slowly: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

It’s a simple act, but it can have a huge impact on your day. It helps you calm down. It brings you into the moment. It removes distractions as it focuses you on what you’re doing. Instead of worrying about what you have to do, it allows you to just be.

Take a Breath

Find time to take a break in your day. It only takes a few seconds, and those few seconds can help you refocus and better frame whatever you are working on.

Set an alarm at different times during the day. Use an app that will remind you. Or you can pair it with an activity you do often, such as taking a breath every time you are about to stand.

Take a moment to stop and reflect. It only takes a few seconds and can help keep you focused, peaceful and ready to take on whatever comes your way.

So take the time and take a breath.
