Today’s a Great Day to Fly

A sunset over water with the Erin Hanson quote on top

Any day is a day you can walk, but today’s a great day to fly.

Lots of Walking

For most of us, there’s nothing stopping us from walking. It’s kind of what we do… from the living room to the kitchen, from our workstation to the break room, from our front door to the mailbox. We walk ourselves and walk our dogs. We walk a large part of our day.

Walking is so commonplace we do it without thinking. In fact, we often mindlessly walk upstairs to get something only to forget what we walked upstairs to get! It’s hard to think of some activity we do as often and mindlessly as we do with walking.

That’s all the more reason that today’s a great day to fly.

Spread Your Wings

If you could fly, wouldn’t you do it? Wouldn’t it be a wonderful break from the taxing monotony of the every day? Wouldn’t it be amazing to change your perspective from down in the weeds to up in the clouds?

If you could fly, would you? Then why don’t you?

There is freedom waiting for you, on the breezes of the sky, and you ask “What if I fall?” oh but my darling, what if you fly? – Erin Hanson

Today’s a great day to fly. You may not have physical wings, but that doesn’t mean you can’t metaphorically fly.

There is so much more that life has to offer than just sitting, walking, rinsing, and repeating. There are so many opportunities that life gives us — both big and small — to fly on the breezes of the sky. There are reasons to avoid them. There are reasons to ignore them. But, more importantly, there are reasons to explore them and find new exciting things to be thankful for.

Wouldn’t it be great to find the freedom that’s waiting for you on the breezes of the sky?

Today’s a great day to fly.
