What the Fun

what the fun

If you are looking to have a great time, what the fun are you waiting for? Do it!

An Unshakable Dream

A morning not too long ago I had to get up early after getting to bed late the night before. We’re talking 4 in the morning early.

Unfortunately, that night I had a pretty powerful, vivid, yet unpleasant dream. It’s don’t often have dreams that bother me, but this one did. There were some people out to get me and I was not for getting got. (I think my high school English teacher just cried a little).

I woke with a jump which means that I was very aware of the dream. What the fun part was: I couldn’t shake it.

A Bleary Eyed Sleepwalk

I went into the kitchen which had a whole wall of windows. I started walking around in circles to wake up, but I couldn’t take my eyes off the windows. I was pretty sure I was okay, but I wasn’t taking any chances. I was looking out the windows, ready for any would be assailants.

After a little bit of time, I realized I had been still half asleep, not literally, but cognitively. My worries about people outside weren’t because of reality, but because my mind wasn’t clear enough to process everything. I was, for all practical purposes, sleepwalking. I wasn’t really living life; I was walking through it in a stupor.

As crazy as it sounds, how often do we do that in our every day?

What the Fun?!

There are many times in life we coast through it only half awake and half paying attention. We’re coasting through not really engaged and not really enjoying it.

What the fun?! Why not enjoy life! Why not live it while we’re in it? Sure there are tough days and bad dreams, but there is no excuse to sleepwalk through it.

Make the most of it. Ask yourself, “what the fun?!” If there isn’t any, maybe it’s time to take a second look at what you’re doing or find a way to change things up.

If you’re not where you want to be, ask yourself “what the fun?”
