Today, I have a simple reminder for you. It’s something true that’s all about you. It’s a reminder you can look at every time you feel you have let yourself down.
Because you’ve made it.
Look at You!
You’ve made it! Look at you! You’ve made it to this point. Regardless of tomorrow or any moment past this one, remember this: you’ve made it.
You’re reading this, which means you can read. There are approximately 1 billion people in the world who can’t. 1 billion! And yet you can. You don’t think about it, or how important it is, but at some point in your life it took you a lot of work and several years to get it down. And now you do it effortlessly.
You can pick up novels, short stories, blog posts, instruction manuals, self-improvement books, legal briefs and read them all. You have the ability to teach yourself! Look at you! This is truly a big deal, one you don’t really think about, but a big deal nonetheless.
You’ve Come This Far!
The fact that you are reading this type of post, probably means you are an adult. You’ve made it this far! 18+ years of challenges that you’ve overcome: bullies, tests, school, mistakes – including giant mistakes that you thought were going to end you. You made it! You’re still moving forward.
Maybe you’re not an adult – how much more impressive! You are someone who is reading this blog and trying to improve yourself. You are getting a head start on your future!
And You’re Here!
Look where you are! You’re here! You’re reading a blog about success and self improvement. You could be looking at a gossip rag or fighting with some random stranger on the Internet, but you’re here trying to make yourself better.
Although it’s no guarantee, I’m guessing you have a place to live, running water, food to eat, hopes, dreams, and a passion to make something of yourself. Do you realize how fortunate you are and how much you have done to get here?
Even if you don’t have some of those things, you are still here, wanting to get those things, doing what is needed to move forward through the difficulty of not having those things. What grit you have!
You’ve Made It!
You’ve made it here. Look at you! You are an amazing person. You take for granted how much you have accomplished to be here, but you have accomplished a lot.
You’ve come this far! You’ve made it to adulthood with all the moxie that requires. Or you’re not an adult, but simply an overachiever. Wherever you are, it’s worth celebrating.
And you’re here! Improving yourself. Making yourself more amazing. Wanting to have a positive impact on the world.
You’ve made it here – to this moment in time. Look at all the things you’ve done to get here. Now see in yourself all the amazing potential you have. Your future is waiting. You’ve made it here. Now think about the wonderful places you can go from here.
